Phoenix and Surrounding Communities
If you are just moving into the Valley of the Sun you may not realize just how big and sprawling it is. So we have separated the Valley into six areas for you, with each of the towns and cities in each area grouped in a way to make finding your new community easier. Since the Valley is so large many people choose the area of the Valley to live in by ease of driving to their job. Here is a link to the Arizona Republic and The Tribune our main area newspapers. Both have good classified job ads. There are smaller papers for each community, so be sure to check them out too.
Additional links for Maricopa County, Census, and Dept of Transportation are listed at the bottom of the page under Central Phoenix.
For a full sized freeway map of the area go to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Best known for the famous Camelback Mountain, the Northeast Valley is a resort-like setting with some of the finest shopping and restaurants in the country. The Indian Wash greenbelt and nearby Bartlett Lake offer a variety of outdoor activities, such as fishing, sailing, and many other sports. A hike up several mountain ranges presents some beautiful views of the Valley. The Northeast Valley has long been a sought-after place to live. It includes Cave Creek, Carefree, Fountain Hills, and Scottsdale. A bit further north you find Anthem.
